Technology Deep Dive: Nimble's Core Architecture, CASL

Technology Deep Dive: Nimble's Core Architecture, CASL Tube. Duration : 67.05 Mins.

Cache Accelerated Sequential Layout (CASL) is Nimble Storage's core architecture, engineered from the ground up to leverage solid state and disk drives. In this recorded webinar from October 30, 2012, Nimble Storage Director of Storage Architecture Devin Hamilton provides a technical deep dive into how CASL works. Devin demonstrates how a hybrid approach is superior over an all-flash approach to storage for a broad range of mainstream applications. CASL enables a scale-to-fit architecture that allows customers to scale their performance and/or capacity independently. And most significantly, CASL enables capacity-efficient snapshots for backup which live on primary storage. No more backup software or devices or deduplication/hydration. Backups and restores are instantaneous and DR/failover is simple to setup with lower bandwidth network connections. Follow Nimble on Twitter @NimbleStorage It's a new paradigm for storage, and Devin takes you through the bits and bytes of how it all happens.
