Performance Test: Scale vs. EMC VNXe 3100 - Scale Computing Video Clips. Duration : 1.60 Mins.

ScaleComputing.com Scale Computing Performance Test Overview We tested a Scale storage cluster against an EMC VNX3 3100. -- EMC VNXe -- Number of Drives - 12 Drive Type - 7200 near-line SAS Redundancy - RAID-6 Architecture - (2) Storage processors Network Ports - (2) 1 GbE ports -- Scale -- Number of Drives - 12 Drive Type - 7200 RPM SATA Redundancy - RAID-10 like stripping/mirroring Architecture - (3) Clustered storage nodes Network Ports - (3) 1 GbE ports We fan a set of common file operations including HD video plays/records and file copies to/from shares from three connected clients simultaneously. The Scale cluster finished the test in 6.2 minutes. The VNXe took 2 minutes longer, or 33% slower. Scale offers a storage architecture designed for better performance now and as you grow.
